Cost-share Program

2024 Cost-Share Application - Due Dec. 1

The cost-share program is designed to be inclusive to help every member meet their soil and water conservation goals. The practices below have been shown to provide a suite of benefits, including but not limited to, reducing soil erosion by wind and water, limiting nutrient losses via leaching, runoff, or other loss pathways, and improving soil health.

To participate, please indicate which program(s) you would like to enroll in and the number of acres you are enrolling. Receipts are required for some programs. DCF’s cost share program is intended to be a learning opportunity for members, so we ask that members be willing to share lessons learned from trying a new practice with the group. Applicants may apply for multiple programs on different acres.

Final cost-share payments are dependent on available funds and will be distributed no later than the first quarter of 2025. If you are not yet a DCF member, please fill out the membership form (available at dodgecountyfarmers.com) and pay the $50 membership dues.

Member Survey

Deadline to complete is Nov. 15

DCF requests current and future members take this brief survey. This survey is to understand what conservation practices are being done on the land and to track our group’s progress.

It will also help DCF get a sense of what members are interested in, so we can serve you better.

This survey is open to all farmers in the Dodge County community. In all cases, information is strictly confidential and any summaries will be provided in aggregate.

Infiltration Ring Tests

Ongoing Program

The Dodge County Healthy Soils Healthy Water Group has been asking farmers to take infiltration tests on their farms and record that data to be given to the group in order to put together the data and see how tillage, rotation, and cover crops can affect the infiltration of water into the soil.

Please download the Water Infiltration Test PDF; Follow the instructions to conduct the tests; Share your water infiltration rates with Dodge County Farmers for Healthy Soil & Healthy Water.
